Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, employers must monitor the health of workers exposed to noise, dust, fumes and other hazards. Prequalification schemes ask for proof. We run the tests on-site and give you the documentation.

## Health monitoring records that stand up when the auditor asks

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, a PCBU must monitor the health of workers exposed to certain hazards, including noise, dust and hazardous substances. Regulators such as WorkSafe New Zealand may ask for evidence that this monitoring is taking place.

Prequalification schemes and client audits commonly ask contractors to demonstrate how worker health is monitored. Our reports can be kept alongside your other health and safety documentation and referred to when completing questionnaires for schemes such as SiteWise, Tōtika and PREQUAL.

Care & Protect is a health monitoring provider. We do not issue prequalification certifications and we do not guarantee compliance; the schemes assess your overall health and safety system. What we provide is the health monitoring component, delivered properly and documented clearly.

## How it works

### 1. Baseline every exposed worker

Hearing, lung function and vision baselines on induction, so change over time can be shown.

### 2. Recall and repeat on schedule

We track who is due and come back to your site, so monitoring never lapses between audits.

### 3. Reports you can hand over

Employer summaries and individual results, formatted for your H&S file and prequal submissions.

## A monitoring programme includes

- Review of roles and hazards on your site
- Baseline testing for existing staff and new starters
- Recall and repeat on schedule
- Confidential individual results
- Employer summary reports
- Reminders when re-tests are due

## Reports you can hand over

- Baseline every exposed worker so change over time can be shown
- Repeat rounds scheduled so monitoring never lapses between audits
- Employer summaries formatted for your H&S file and prequal submissions
- Evidence of a health monitoring programme for WorkSafe expectations

Health monitoring is one part of a compliant health and safety system, alongside risk assessments, controls and training. We provide the monitoring and documentation; your overall compliance depends on the rest of your system.
